Jim Dowd

Jim is among our field’s acknowledged next generation leaders, named to PR Week magazine’s 40 Under 40 list and founder of one of the fastest growing PR firms in the country.  His passion is media relations, enabling him to lead the agency’s consumer practice like few others: as a principal who rolls up his sleeves, as he’s done for all of his clients since 2005, and will continue to do going forward. He has fifteen years of experience in entertainment and consumer media relations.

At The Dowd Agency (as of November 2009, part of Middleberg Communications), founded in 2005, Jim earned relationships with Yahoo!, Kodak, Levi Strauss, Coca-Cola, Beam Global Spirits & Wine, IFC, MTV Networks, History Channel and other blue chip marketers.  Prior to starting his own shop, he rose fast through the publicity ranks at NBC, launching high-profile properties like The Apprentice and in doing so, contributing to the genesis of product-integrated reality programming.  There, he developed relationships with elite TV news and entertainment producers and print journalists that continue today.

Prior to NBC, Jim worked for five years at A&E Television networks and was contributing editor of TheaterWeek magazine.

Proud dad of three young children, Jim graduated magna cum laude from The University of Notre Dame and holds a Master of Arts degree from The Shakespeare Institute.
